Simon Baik

Simon Baik is the Executive Vice President and Head of NPL Business in China for Corstone Capital. Mr. Baik manages and controls all of the assets and staff in the Jiangxi Province.

Prior to joining Corstone, Mr. Baik was Founder and CEO of Green Capital, where he focused on providing investments to pre-IPO companies, and property and NPLs in China.

Prior to the establishment of Green Capital, Mr. Baik worked as CEO and Managing Director for KDLC Lease and Finance in Hong Kong and then CEO and Managing Director for KDLC Leasing Singapore Pte. Ltd. In these roles his activities included managing all assets in the Asian region, in particular Korea, Indonesia, China, Thailand, India, and the Philippines. He also had to manage many non-performing assets and has experience disposing of Chinese NPLs. In this capacity, he had excellent collection rates and short timeframes for collection.

Following graduation from college, Mr. Baik joined Korea Development Leasing Corporation (KDLC), the largest leasing company in Korea. KDLC was established by Orix of Japan, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and several major Korean Banks. Mr. Baik worked in the Korean NPL and Loan department and ultimately became Head of the Planning Team.

Mr. Baik received his undergraduate degree in business administration from Sogang University in Seoul, where he also received a minor in Chinese History. He has also attended a short-term Derivatives course at Illinois State University and participated in US and European Finance and Investment training courses.
